Bavarian Motor Works (BMW)
*Beautiful spiral architechture of the BMW Welt*

This is actually a revisit entry after about nine years back and some of the displays have been swapped out. The additional €3 to join the walking tour was well worth it. Prices have increased to €10/pax (almost double or more)  since almost a decade ago.

The guided one hour tour is highly recommended as the stories add to the visual representation and embodiment of the cars.

There are two sections. The free to view is the BMW Welt which often features the newest cars, and the paid entry BMW Museum located opposite.

2023 at BMW Welt

2023 at BMW Museum Visit
(Note timings are not for the whole day. Just managed to catch the 12-1pm session which was the last of the day*)
*B/W Line mirroring the area of the art movement*
*People thought it was British Motor Works. As they couldn't use the Bavarian flag, the colors were swapped with Blue then White forming the iconic BMW logo.*
*The body weighed in at 35kg. It was all about reducing weight.*
*Beach seats to further reduce weight. But what was deemed essential was a cigarette lighter and ash tray. This was later installed with side indicator mirrors to have it road legal to bring it back to the msueum*
*Art Cars*
*An accidental creation out of necessity which later became a huge hit.*
*Grey is the preferred neutral color for concept vehicles and
that mock-up cycle is all clay.*
*Styling of Adam West's Batman Car.*
*If you ask in the Welt side you may get a free ride within the space*
*A joint project with Lamborghini*
*Taking retro cars an re-imagining them in today's modern contacts*
Still excellent and made more engaging with the tour. Highly recommended.

Motorworld Munchen
The IKEA of car shopping. There's super cars, classics, American muscle cars and so much more all located in one sheltered space. Free to enter to take a browse. Some of the cars are the paper value of a C.O.E in Singapore.

Eateries are also available on site for a short break.
How's it compare to BMW museum? Motorworld has a wider range of cars, but the added tour at BMW would add a little more story than just looking at a fancy cars. Depends on which brand you personal like but either way, its a great experience and worth to check out! Motorworld is a short 300m walk from Freimann train station.

Rifle Range Park
Visited 03Jan23

The visitor Pavilion was inspired by the L-shaped structures built in shooting ranges to redirect misfired shots. The site used to used by the Singapore Gun Club from 1950s to 2009.

*Collecting rainwater from the car park runoff and redistributing to the plants* *Nice open concept shared wash basin area*

Some innovative design elements and history makes this place for great leisurely exploration. Colugo deck lookout is easy to access and allows one to soak in the scenery. Like many of the parks in Singapore, the variety in terrain offers variety and challenges catering to all park visitors.
*Nice play elements but I think part of it has broken down. There are some natural play elements but nothing to scream about. Some parks like Como Adventure Grove and Coast Playgrove Playground incorporate nature and play reallyt well.*

Try to look out for the elusive Colugo which frequent some of the trees here!
*Variety of terrain for all visitors*

This serves as an extension and connects up to the Old Buikit Timah Railway station which is a beautiful refurbished, scenic and historic site. These two could be done in combination for a great half day of exploration. For the more adventurous, it does continue on to the green corridor which stretches an impressive 24km across.

Macritchie Treetop Walk
Visited 01Jan23
*Stairs, to boardwalks, to well-run-in terrain.*

*Signs everywhere to assure you that you're still going in the right direction*

ABBATip:
- It is a one way loop. After crossing the suspension bridge, it's a good 2km to loop back to the ranger station of up and down.
- The difficulty level is low as paths are clearly demarcated with a good range of steps, and well-run paths.
- Secure sandals are sufficient but shoes preferred.
- Bring water as the only water spot and toilet facilities were at the ranger station.
- As always beware of your food items as the monkeys maybe aggressive in going for treats.

It would seem the nearest parking is from Venus Drive which is coincidentally also the entry point to Windsor Nature Park (Beautiful walks amongs nature that's well thought out, simple and scenic). Other ways to get closer to the treetop walk  is via drop off only along Island Club road.Be prepared for the long walk as there's minimal car access (escape via Taxi/Grab) once in the thick of the routing, one pretty much needs to march on. There's loads to see if looking and the variety in terrain does make the journey interesting. There are more challenging routes which also brings one to the treetop walk via different entrances so find one that suits your endurance level.

For a similar walk amongst the trees, which last longer and less taxing, one might consider checking out the Southern Ridges.

*Getting Tired and sneaking a rest*
More of a great accomplishment and fitness workout over the rewarding view from the treetop. As its one direction and heavy traffic flow, one can't dwell too long on the short 250m bridge. However enroute, the biodiversity offered in the park is always a fun sight to behold if looking.
