Etiler Kebapçı
(Leisurely spotted by Chloe and an excellent
dining experience and traditional Turkish spread)
Click here for the Full menu at Etiler Kebapçı
Kebapçı
is another restaurant started by the Bae Family and is run by one of the four brothers and their sibling resemblance is strong. The famous Nusr-Et Steakhouse Etiler is located 240m further down the road. Mr Salt Bae himself maybe there but would probably only come out for the gold steak. Previous day visitors managed a shot with him.

ABBAtips:
- Take shuttle bus to Akmerkez mall
. (affordable stuff. Has supermarket 2nd floor and money changer at the basement level) /train station so you can have a leisurely walk down hill back to hotel. Those interested to go to Zorlu AVM it has more up class shopping.

- Insta famous meals at Salt Bae's restaurant Nusr-Et Steakhouse Etiler (18min walk back to hotel down-slope) is the most-value place to try in the world. Did not try personally but previous visitors paid about 100sgd/pax.
*The oldest brother*
*The Bae gene is strong*

Gavurdağ Salad ₺155.00 Tomato, onion, pepper, parsley, walnut salad with olive oil and pomegranate syrup
*Really nice tang and an easy salad combination which I'd add to my salad list. Now just to get that pomergrate syrup and we're golden! Refreshing and light!*
Başpınar Lahmacun
*The warm appetizer was a home run and enjoyed by everyone! Eat with your hand, the fresh herbs, a squeeze of lemon and absolutely delicious. A must order.*

KEBAPÇI Tava

₺355.00Small pieces of marinated lamb shish, roasted shallots, garlic, red and green pepper, aubergine and tomatoes
Oven Baked Beyti with Sauce ₺320.00 Beyti Kebab, roasted tomatoes, pepper, kashar cheese and Antep pistachio, served with Iskender sauce*The cooling yogurt cuts right through the heaviness.*
Kadayıf with Pistachio ₺135.00

*They're very well versed with all the showmanship and all seasoned veterans to filming and recording for social media.*
*Hot sweet desert with cold creamy ice-cream. What better combination. The dessert comes served with tea after.*
Food 4/5
*Kebab platter was excellent and not pictured. They could reduce the spice for our non-chili eaters but even with the 'spicy ones' they were balanced very well and enjoyed by non-chili eaters.
Service 4/5
*Very social media versed and provided filming opportunities and was very accommodating to talk about the food, share how to eat it and truly enjoy the turkish experience!*
Value 4.5/5
*It could be at the time of the stronger exchange rate, but with the just right amount of  food orders and opened bottles of water which was forth coming the bill came up as a pleasant surprise after.*
Ambience 4/5
*The open skylight  and slightly elevated view was pleasant.*
Total Fed 6 at SGD32each after conversion at the time.
*Ending the meal with sunset on the roof top
on the top floor back at the hotel.*
Highly, highly recommended. I've heard/read much of Nusr-Et Steakhouse and leave it to the individual for their take on it (Have yet to try). However, if you're looking for the Turkish experience and exploration through their foods, showmanship and entertainment at great value, consider giving Etiler Kebapçı a try! The stretch offers loads of other dining options.
NOTE: Try to order from their menu (At least can track what the charges are). I trust they are just being very  friendly and forthcoming and wanting all to have enough to eat. They want to ensure everyone gets the full experience, but some of the orders they trippled up so that each one had a serve, even though we explicitly ordered single portions for a sampling. However it all turned out well at a value price of TL420/SG32/pax.

Etiler Sarıhan Gusto
Visited out of convenience and fatigue. This was located just outside of the nearest metro station and offered a much needed rest spot before heading back.
Ordered On:
27Oct22

*The dumplings with cold yogurt and warm tomato sauce would be labeled as interesting. The chicken kebabs were surprisingly very juicy and delicious. Tasted excellent.*
*Taste like it looks. No surprises here :D. There was a sprinkling of other eats but didn't record them individually. *
Food 3/5
*Still good food. Perhaps many of the orders we weren't used to the combination and probably a mix of fatigue and jet lagged. Nice but not as great as Kebapçı reviewed above.*
Value 4/5
Service 4/5
*They were serving everyone individually even though portion sizes were small. Accommodating and assisted as much as they could*
Ambience 3.5/5
*Low hanging lights and the area was fairly dimly lit*

Fed 7 225TL/Pax aprox 17SGD
A nice place of convenience that was near to the train station and to finish a full day out (click here to see the full day itinerary) with a meal together at value pricing. Walk back to the hotel was all down hill and leisurely.

Kofteci Ramiz
(a food chain located in Galleria Shopping Mall 700m across)

Click here for ABBA location of Ramiz located in basement of Galleria Mall
Located in the basement of the huge Galleria Mall, Ramiz stood out all thanks to Sue's salesmanship really.

Claiming to be an ex-crew of Turkish airline, she knows the walk and talk to cater to the crew's needs. She's even got airline sticker at the counter front.

Sue spent the time explaining the menu to everyone and definitely top service marks, giving a free sampling of bread, dessert and Turkish tea.

Everyone went for the set. Choice of chicken or lentil soup

*The Lentil soup was pretty good! Thick, filling and full flavored. The table side spice packs were really interesting. Black for pepper, red for red pepper and green for mixed herb spices. The chicken soup however, diluted and believed to be from a can.
Mixed Meat Grill

*Simple. Nice char on the meat patties. A little salty, but it pairs up nicely with the bread, a little olive oil and the nicly grilled green chili.*
Chicken with rice with serve of rice and salad

The dish taste and looks a little like Nandos. Chicken isn't too dry and fairly decent set meals for a quick bite.
Set meals come with choice of soup and a drink.
Fed 9 at 25Lyras Each with tip
Simple quick eats at reasonable prices. Average set meals about 20TL and meals about 16-18TL. Their chicken is more tender and juicy as compared to Bursa Kebap Evi located across. Their buttered rice too has more ingredients and spices to give the oomph. So stick to the chicken rice plates over at Ramiz.
Click here for ABBA location of Ramiz located in basement of Galleria Mall

Bursa Kebap Evi
Bursa Kebap Evi is located just across from Ramiz within the B1 of the shopping mall. Communication maybe a little bit of a problem and there was only two sets of menu available
Ordered On:
09Feb2017
Bursa Kebap with Egg plant
*The star and must order. The beef/lamp mixture is served over Pita bread and the small portion is already a lot for a single individual.
Cheese Dessert
*Fried, oily and on the sweet side. It could use more cheese. Interesting for trying but probably not head over heels to order again.*
Total fed 8 at about 30++TL each
The star order is definitely the Bursa Kebap. Nice thinly sliced mix of beef and lamb meats. The topper is the butter sauce which is poured over table side which adds to the richness of the entire dish.
The lentil soup and bread over at Bursa is superior to that of Ramiz. However their chicken here is a little dry. Stick to their singature Bursa Kebap and you can't go wrong.

I had the mixed borek plate (Turkish stuffed pastry,  consisting of pacanga borek, spinach triangles, sigara borek, and fried kashar cheese, served with marinara and soy sauce.
They are good but my favourite is the spinach triangles
The texture and flavour of the spinach is a nice contrast to the cheese filling.
I also had the adana kebab (chilli spice kebab, which is hand-chopped beef and lamb marinated in a traditional hot spice mixture, with Anatolian style pilaf, grilled tomatoes and peppers, served with lavash bread.
I had expected the chilli to be on the meat itself, but it is actually served in a separate saucer. Nevertheless, the chilli goes really well with the tender meat.

Stuffed Auberine With Olive Oil 12.50TL

Eggplant stuffed with rice, onion, mint, pine nuts, currants and cinnamon. (V)

*Really good. The blend of spices were really nice with the accents from the pine nuts. A humble egg plant elevated in flavors. Would Highly recommend this dish. Tasted even better with their condiments of either sweet pomegranate syrup, fragrant olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A cold, large portioned, appetizer vegetarian dish which can be a main as well.*

Sultan's Favorite
Beef cubes in a tomato sauce, served on a delicious roast puree eggplant
and kashar cheese 33TL

*Although having egg plant as well, in this dish it added more of a textural component and over shadowed by the cheese. Still creamy and tasteful, with beef cubes complimenting the baked cheese puree. Heavy for one to finish and definitely worth a share.*

Located in the heart of tourist attractions, Hagia Sophia and The Blue Mosque, this side alley eatery delivers large on their hospitality, great tasting foods and at reasonable prices. A nice ambiance with alfresco dining available as well as free wi-fi.
- Note to self. Feed cats only after your meal is done. They are very bold and will come up to eat of your plate. Don't be taken in by their cuteness. Dining company for that day.

Located near Taksim train station. The diner stretches a few stories high, with plesantly ornate decor. Options of seated dining, or communal, sit on floor dining is available. Relatively cheap dining prices but food wise, nothing outstanding or to scream about. A complimentary serve of fresh flat bread, with fresh, spicy salsa. No menus in English, but staff on hand are there to explain them to you.
