Nagoya Castle (Sakura Week!)

The grounds itself has a small charge of 500Yen. We didn't go in, but the surrounding moat was pleasant to explore with the Sakura Flowers towards their end of bloom.

Nagoya Castle's layout and bloom of the Sakura Trees aren't as picturesque as other known Sakura viewing spots. A nice 1.5hr or so exploration on bicycle to see the surrounding grounds as the sun sets.
Some other Bloom spots you might want to consider exploring.

Fukuoka - Nishi Park (A nice condensed park with varying feels and photo opportunities. Though not as impressive as others but worth the variety.) Kyoto - Japan famous Philosopher's walk in Kyoto and ending with Maruyama Park for a meal and soaking in the atmosphere.

Toyota Commemorative
Museum of Industry and Technology

Totyota found its humble beginnings in Nagoya. The grounds are divided into two portions. Its early beginnings in the textile industry and later moving onto the Automobile giant that it became.

Nothing much really. Was really expecting way more vehicles on display, but the displays are really text intensive. However, with the tentative staff at each section, giving a presentation in English, did highlight some interesting factoids about Toyota.

If you're looking for their hardware, this place would fall short.

For car show rooms and tours, you might be interested in by order of its collection.

Nagoya city science museum

The spread is fairly extensive, covering all aspects of the sciences. Lots of interactive booths which are fun for all ages. Surprisingly, even visiting on a Wednesday, there was a huge range of demographics which range from young to old.

Some highlights are the timed presentations  like the Tornado display and Tesla coil presentation. The cold room looked pretty interesting but I couldn't get a time slot for. The supposed finale is the planetarium presentation at the very end on the top floor.

Sadly the planetarium had a lot of potential with their visuals but missed out with mostly static and one dimensional shots of the stars. Furthermore, its a long 50min presentation that’s only in Japanese. Maybe its the show selection but the super comfortable swivel chairs are extremely conducive for a power nap.
