Halloween Trick or Treat at Woodgrove Estate
Generally starts around 630pm and really picks up after Sunset!

*One of the 501st.*

*The houses that pretty much participate is in this entire area. Though its pretty large but in some road its literally shoulder to shoulder and to move around ya got to walk on the streets.*

The largest, community-run, absolutely free celebration that started around 2007. It gennerally starts from 6pm and the crowds really picks up, especially when night fall. A night to remember and would really recommend experiencing it one time!

There are a few Signature houses that have in their own way outshine others but its pretty much the entire area. Feel free to explore the various alley ways and enjoy your fellow trick or treater's costumes for the night. 
ABBATipd:
- Arrive early to secure a parking spot of sorts. 1630-1700hrs is a good time. Any later there have been reports by Trick or Treat veterans of no parking spaces and even massive jams. Trying for 6pm or so can result in long waits and even disappointment to not getting to check out  the residence.
- Bring water! It's gonna be hot and full of fun! Entrepreneurial individuals also have got lots of drinks for sale too but at a decent markup.
- The place really gets really crowded by about 7pm onwards, especially after the sun is set. 

One could come earlier when there's still day light to really appreciate the houses but most of them are either still setting up or not yet "open for trick-or-treating".

*Pet friendly. We saw a few dressed up pets moving around.*

Super fun time! Grab a meal before, have lots of water breaks, take lots of pictures and enjoy the entire carnival like atmosphere! Family friendly for all ages and animal friendly too.

Definitely one-of-a-kind experience. We may try checking out some of the other estates next year but this was one which I was looking to attend for a number of years now.

*Generosity at its best. Giving out free water to Carnival goers and not going the entrepreneurial route. A god sent adding to the fun lively atmoshere.*

Green Corridor Cycle
13Aug25

We finally got the opportunity to try out this routing along part of the Green Corridor. 

You maybe interested to check out these other cycling routes with a variety of views and varying difficulty for young families. The Green Corridor traces Singapore’s former KTM railway line, now a lush 24 km trail teeming with wildlife.

We had parked at Dairy Farm Rd Car Park A and rented from Ride Sharing bicycle found around the MRT station. There are many entry points to the Green Corridor along the way.
ABBATip:
- Probably start after Rail mall/ King Albert Park MRT Station for a smooth SOUTHERLY ride from Rail Corridor park. (Click here for full review) along the Green Corridor. 
We entered via Hillview MRT and exited via Buona Vista. The road conditions were pretty uneven with bumps and humps and smoothed out closer to  the Rail Corridor.

*Smooth riding as it reaches the Rail Corridor park and beyond. That's pretty much the scenery all the way with some variations.*

Pros:
- Nice long stretches of unblocked cycling. 
- Surrounded entirely by nature. 
- Riding along a piece of Singapore's history and able to checkout the Former Bukit Timah Station.
- Easy access with multiple entry and exit points along the green corridor.
Cons:

- Too narrow. With hikers on one side and pretty much single lane traffic its a tight squeeze.
- From where we started and ended, probably the first third was bumpy and quite unpleasant to ride. So much so we took public back to our start point.
- Not much variation to the scenery. In fact we made a slight detour along Holland Green Linear Park for some nice paved cycling track and variations in the view.

Other scenic cycling routes that you may wanna try out.
- Sentosa Cycle - Views of the beaches but without a car, much slopes to conquer to get to the marina.

- Singapore River Cycle- Loads of key view spots and key attraction in Singapore
- MBS - Flyer - OCBC Cycle - To me probably one of the more iconic and enjoyable cycles
- Jurassic Mile - East Coast Cycle

Sentosa - Cycle

The beachside cycle is pretty scenic but  there aren't really suitable paths for a shared walkway with pedestrians. Its either on the road or riding on the walk way which is sandy, narrow and sometimes slippery from the sand. This beach side cycle is more for those who are able to cycle on the road. Not recommended for small kids.

Siloso Beach with most of the beach clubs and light projections are. 
Palawan Beach - For the trolls art sculptures and southern most point. 
Tanjong Beach where the its largely the dog friendly area. 

Continued cycle at Sentosa Cove
*Note if renting the public bicycles via app, the official parking locations are highly limited*

Easy board walk to cycle with great views of the yachts! Down side is bike rental parking are very limited. Its best to find one that has the bicycles in the designated parking area for you to returns as well. To get here via cycling is challenging with steep hills. We transported our bikes there to get all the benefits and none of the steep hill climbs.

Singapore River - Chinatown Cycle

Difficulty: Easy

Apart from tourists, the cycle along the river coast is scenic, relaxing with minimal road crossing. It covers much of the key iconic buildings in Singapore city and loads of food options along the way. From fancy to cheap hawkers eats. We brought along two of our own bikes and found rental of the HelloRide easy and convenient for short rides. Today's expedition cost us SGD3.50 each. Rented two bikes. 

A nice, easy Singapore River loop with lots of pinion sights around Singapore. From Boat Quay, Fullerton Hotel, to MBS (Click here for Staycation at MBS),the Merlion, Clark Quay's River (Click here Clark Quay River Cruise) and various museums and various iconic bridges along the way. If you're lucky you can catch Otters along the way. 

The Singapore River is historically significant as the birthplace of modern Singapore. It was the center of trade and commerce in the 19th and early 20th centuries, attracting merchants from around the world.

MBS - Flyer - OCBC - East Coast loop

Difficulty: Medium

Loads to see along the way with many Icons of Singapore. From the Keppel Marina (click for full review. Great for picnics and sunsets.), Marina Barrage( Great for kite flying, picnics and the views!), MBS, the Helix Bridge, the Singapore Flyer which is also the F1 night race pit (click for full review and the views.), OCBC stadium and more.

Lots to see along the way with relatively few traffic crossing along the way. Food options are a little limited and expect to pay town prices.  

Jurassic Mile East Coast Lookout Ride Loop

Difficulty: Medium

The Jurassic Mile section is great with loads to see. Its a great start and end point with pretty good eats available at Hub & Spoke (Click here for full review of Jurassic Mile and Hub & Spoke.). Crew and airport staff get a discount there so remember to flash your staff pass. Downside there's not much to see on the long journey. There's a bicycle rental available as well and they also give a discount for airport staff.
ABBATip
- Save a dollar, just go for any of the bike shares bikes which are plenty located at T4's carpark. They have bicycles with children's seats as well. 
- Airport staff or crew get a discount at Hub & Spoke and the regular bike rentals as well. 

*Sungei Bedok Jetty was as far as we got but its great for Aircraft viewing.*

*You get great up close views of aircraft crossings. Singapore's A380.*

Quite the route with a few key points to look out for. Once out of the Jurassic Mile zone, its pretty much a long flat ride along East Coast. Some endurance cycling for young one but you do get to watch aircraft on approach and see what locals have caught along the pier. 

Not much dining options along the way. Hub & Spoke is the common rest stop for a meal unless wanting to cycle further down to East Coast Lagoon Food Village.

Changi Carpark 7 Intertidal Exploration
(Day edition)

Same same but different from what you get to find at see as compared to Carpark 6 (parking is pretty limited here) . You can still walk to the other carpark but its quite a walk at 15-20mins. 
ABBATips
- Arrive 35-45mins before the lowest tide point as published to maximize the day at sea.
- You need Tides at least 0.3-0.4m or lower in order to scope things out.
- Bring along torch lights as the sun sets and if you have  a UV light to enjoy the color of the sea creatures.
- Very simple shower facilities and toilets are available on-site with water cooler top-ups.

One can check out Changi Carpark 7's intertidal zone for a different experience where in summary we found more huge shellfish, hermit crabs and surpassingly different finds were horseshoe crabs! Same same but different. Carpark 6 has got a larger variety of items and a larger search area as well!
