ABBATip:
- Stick within the red buoys. The currents are strong.

- Bring sport shoes! You need proper shoes to workout in the gym! Else no entry. Only allowed static workouts.
- Underwater restaurant can only be viewed if dining in for a three course meal at USD120++/pax.
- Rooms have own life jackets to use. Bring your own snorkeling gear if you wanna save on rental at USD8+ for the works. Else you can hit the water any time!
- Not much marine life. Most of sea life accumulate around the rocks or corals and are generally beyond the breakwater.

*Dinner offers the best stuff. If you had to choose this is the best of the three to go for.*

The island I think has a decent size to do some exercises. The food's pretty decent and the facilities are also quite adequate. Not as much animals and sea life to enjoy as at Kurumba and it felt the currents here were a little stronger. The beaches were a little sparse and mostly dead corals.

The walk out onto the long bridge was very picturesque as was the dining spots and food variety offered.

Rental from the activities room

There are a ton of activities available on site but at a charge. However, enjoying the crystal blue waters and snorkeling among the fishes are free! Enjoy the clear waters and ask the activities room receptionist what's the best routing for snorkling. 

 Activity center opens only at 8am! If you wanna catch a glimpse of the local shark and turtle that come visiting in the early morning, you might want to have your own gear to swim with the fishes (before 8am)

Do not feed the fishes nor touch them and/or the corals.They have a pretty educational channel, running about the dos and don't on the island.

ABBA Tip:

- Early in the morning you'd be able to catch a glimpse of the white tip reef shark and sometimes turtle that swim into the cove. 

- Ask the activities receptionist where's best to start of the snorkling and let the tide bring you around the route. Start from the north eastern point and make your way across. 

- For truly the best views, head pass the breakwaters where the coral shore line meets the Deep abyss. That's where the good stuff are.

- Activity center opens only from 8am.

Water Sports Activities Station

Pretty straight forward. One of the FOC activities to choose from. Just rent from the water sports activities station and return within 45mins, or it's chargeable per hour thereafter. The water sports activities are located right beside the main terminal.

A beautiful resort. Being the first time for myself to Male, it's simply amazing. The island itself is incredibly small. A leisurely 20min stroll would get you around the entire island giving you a rough sense of the activities and dining establishments here. 

The welcome coconut sorbet served with shell spoon is divine and totally gets you in the resort holiday mood.

an hour before Sunset. Still really worth it. A round island walk takes about 20mins*

ABBATip: Go early so you can catch the resident sea turtle and sharks.

Its sad to see that after three years, the inner reefs have degraded and most of the fishes are seen only beyond the sheltered coast especially around the drop.  To get to see or even see the resident black tip sharks and turtles, an early start to the day is a must.

Hanging out at the hammock allows for great views of departing aircraft.
