A very quick and rough review.
Food 4/5
*Great flavors in all and balance out well. The modern eats juxtaposed against the old/traditional was a pleasant dining ambience and place to enjoy a breakfast/brunch/*
Service 4/5
Ambience 4/5
Value 3.5/5

Good cafe eats and vibe in this historic location. There's even a side alley seating. A great way to start of the casual walk around Tanjong Katong area to enjoy the 5foot walkways and artisanal shops in the area.

Rumah Kim Choo

Rumah Kim Choo is co-located with Singapore Tourism Information booth.
The place offers traditional snacks, dumplings and treats. The upper story has got a nice homage of family heirlooms and antiques which gives a peak into Peranakan culture. Their array of beautiful tiled pieces line the stairwell as well and were enjoyable. Rumah Kim Choo also offers an interesting event space on the second floor.

Loads of eating options in the Katong area with a plethora of cuisines and famous ones like (was told) Yong's Teochew Kueh joints and much debated and contested over 328 Katong Laksa/Original Katong Laksa.
*Little bit of history, little bit of good eats, artisinal coffee/desert joints scattered around the Katong area made it a nice half day out.*

Singapore - To Do 23Dec20 Old Bukit Timah Railway Station

Old Bukit Timah Railway Station

Parking is available at nearby shopping KAP Mall

There have been some welcome updates since the last visit of end Dec20. Proper stairs have been included for ease of access from the road side and the beautifully renovated station and staff quarters/cafe were quite the uplift to the area. It retained the rustic charm yet modernized it a little. There's also a nice lavatory installed on the premises.

The Old Bukit Timah Railway was once owned by Keretapi Tanah Melayu and opened in 1903. The station was a freight interchange for the currently inoperative Jurong Line from 1965 -1990s.

It is a nice throwback to reminisce a simpler time and is one of the more popular landmarks along the Green Corridor, an on going master plan by Nparks to link up the three national gardens in the near future.

The Green Corridor stretches an impressive 24km and will offer a shared path with cyclist and pedestrians/hikers to enjoy a leisurely paved walking trail through the forest. The landscape along the entire route will be carefully planned with flora to complement the existing vegetation. We barely explored but a small section of it am have encountered lots of birds, insects and animals along the way.

The full walk starts from Woodlands Train Checkpoint and ends at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station.

Free parking at nearby residence makes for a leisurely walk to the railway station. The simple route offers a little bit of the old Bukit Timah Railway station and exploration of the beautiful green corridor, offering a nice mix of history and an easy walking trail.
