The Cafe
03Jan2014
(Located at Hotel Mulia)
Its got to be the most value for money spread. Rated the most popular amongst all the Buffet restaurant in Hotel Mulia. Comparing by price point for a dinner buffet, the honors goes to the Japanese restaurant at Aprox IDR370,000++, followed by The Cafe's International Aprox IDR300,000++ and the Chinese Buffet at IDR290,000++.

By popularity and largest range, The Cafe's International Buffet takes the cake, followed by the chinese food and lastly Japanese. There is an Italian thai fusion buffet spread which is a non-contender and not worth the mention.

The spread which can be found here, can more or less be found in the other two restaurants. A single dine in meal would cost approximately half the Buffet dining costs, hence this international Buffet is really value for money!
A sampling of the SPREAD at The Cafe
Free to Look and compare the spread to make your choice.

*pictured from left, Basic Shashimi spread but with seared Tuna. Amazing flavor, but the coating of the black pepper was a little heavy handed. Picture Center are the jems of prawn roe. Pictured right, giant boiled calms in a semi spicy soup. Great flavor and very sweet flesh*

*The tower of amazing cold seafood. From the bottom up, Oysters, though they do have a smell that suggest frozen oysters. Middle tier is where the good stuff are. Steamed prawns, Alaskan King Crab already cut in half for easy access, and crabs around back. This tower alone justifies the entire cost of the international buffet.*

*The Korean section is no way lacking. Really good bulgogi meats. Pick what you want and they do cook 'em over a flat top grill. Fresh, steaming and served to you, with fancy plating to boot. Went two rounds on this great Korean section.*
*Desserts aren't just limited to the usual fanfare displayed top side. Those beautiful creations and pastries in the glass fridges are also available in the buffet spread. Guaranteed to satisfy one's sweet tooth.*
Not pictured in the spread are the Indonesian section, Chinese and Indian section. They have some BBQ stations which served up steak, chicken, beef, salmon, salmon head, prawns and more. Roast duck and chicken are also avaialble, as are the Indian curries, fresh Naans, pratas, fresh wood oven pizzas and much more. Even their Cheese spread is impressive. However, some meats like their lamb do have a strong gamey flavor to them.

Really value for money and what one can get The Cafe, is pretty much found in all of the other restaurants in the hotel. Highly recommended by crew and worth the try.
Aproximately IDR300,000 after discount.
Crew are entitled to an additional 20% off their total bill.
ABBAtip:
- Place does not serve water. Bottled water is quite pricey and it might be better of ordering a drink of the menu. Take a look. Small bottle went for IDR45,000.
