Griffith Park
Short Hike to get a closer look at the Hollywood Sign
and a different view of the Observatory

Free hiking trails and shots of a the iconic Hollywood Sign. The Hollywood Sign was originally "Hollywoodland," meant as a temporary ad in 1923, but it became permanent and was rebuilt in 1978.
Click here to the point we walked to on the Mt Hollywood Trail (Approximately 1km-ish walk)
The "Hike" itself is very doable. Though it looked far from where we were, the gradients is very gentle and walking surface, flat. The views of the city and of Griffith Observatory from a distance was really enjoyable. Highly recommend to take a short walk.

*FYI The Hike could be done with work shoes due to packing error. Would not recommend but its a leisurely stroll with great views.*

Griffith Observatory

We merely scratched the surface on what to explore at the iconic Griffith Observatory. There are tons of exhibits on the inside. The evening view is completely different and one would have to deal with traffic getting up with limited parking slots.

*An alternative sunset/night view*
ABBA Details:
- Paid parking at the top is pricey at USD10/hr and each selection is in 1hr increments only. There's free parking road side but its far and few especially on the weekends. They do have a USD0.50 shuttle bus (20-30min intervals) which you can take with free parking at the Greek Theater if there's no events. Click here for official info on shuttle services.

Palos Verdes Drive For Sunset
(one of the recommended scenic drives to enjoy in Los Angeles)
Great views with lots of little look out points you can choose to hop over from one to another. Try to arrive at least about 30mins earlier before Sunset to capture some of the best views or have picnics along the coast with great views of the Pacific Ocean.
