36M.S Handmade Yun Tun Noodles
Ordered On:
15Oct2016
Shredded Chicken Noodles
*The Chicken Noodle were totally drenched in the black sauce and that's pretty much all you taste. The noodle are the same as that used for the Wan Ton Noodles*
Wan Ton Mee (Black)
*They are known for the noodles and man was it a large serving! (Ordered Medium size) The noodles were bouncy but of a much thicker variety in comparison to typical noodles used in Penang Wan Ton Noodles, but,are thinner than those used in chain shop, Pon Tian Noodles. Texturally it is very similar to noodles used for Kor Lor Mee in other establishment. With the medium order, even I had trouble finishing the serve. Okay noodles, but no wow to make it a travel to for eats. Char Siew and vegetables are fairly standard serving size and standing.*
Fed2 Total SGD7.70
Seletar Corner Noodle Stall

 Ordered On:

Fried Cockle Kway Teow

Fed2 SGD4.50
*I wouldn't say it's got the full wok heh (char flavor from the fry of the wok.) Its there but it can be more. An interesting mix that sorta works. Its like Hokkien Mee but with cockles, and like fried mee. You can have it in sweet black sauce or without. Its got a fair share of ingredients and a lovely serving of garlic with it, which is fantastic. Pretty good and in all honesty the stall I'd return to try some of their Chee Kway and Chee Cheong Fun to see if do it really thinly and smoothly here.*

 Seletar Corner - Western Food
(Yet to be reviewed. Opens only from 3p.m. onwards)

 Ordered On:
20Oct2016
 Pork Chop SGD5.50
*The pork is really tender and nicely
Chicken Chop SGD6.50
*The breading is alright. The chicken is more breading than chicken actually. I'd personally prefer a thicker batter, but this is a different style.*
The staring points of this joint is definitely the nostalgia aspect of it. What really works for it are its sweet soft bun, buttered and lightly toasted on the flat grill. The fries are okay and the baked bean accompaniment really brings back the nostalgia of school canteen western food. Nothing special really. Your typical brown sauce that goes with everything.

Despite that said, the orders still seem popular with the place as phone orders were coming in with many having it to go.

North Star Ronji Seafood
Corner of Yeo Chu Kang Road and Buagkok Green Road
Opens only for Dinner
Recommended by others

Located at the intersection point of Yeo Chu Kang and Buangkok Green road, hides this relatively popular Zhi Cha Stall which opens only during the evenings. Entry to the place is from the back (depending on where you're coming from.)
Ordered On:
15Oct2016
Mongolian Pork Ribs 10
*Was recommended Marmite pork but that was non existent so ended up having Mongolian pork. Well this was okay. A little heavy handed on the black pepper and could use more curry leave though.*
Fried Beans with Dry Shrimps 8
*Could use a longer fry to get it a little drier but it is an all right dish as well.*
Venison with Ginger and Spring Onion 12
*Nothing to scream about. Of course it'd be preferred if it were served on a hot plate so you get that extra char and sizzle hot venison.*
Fried Man Tao 5

Chilli Crab 78
*Their chilli crab was a fail in my books. More tomato sauce than a chilli sauce! However, where it lacked in its saucing, it excelled in its freshness! A pretty large sized crab able to feed 4pax or even 5 comfortably of that quality is defiantly to be commended.*
Total 114SGD fed 4.
This time's dining experience was okay at best, and that would probably be attributed to the dish selections which were recommended from others. However the menu is huge and I'd probably try some of their other dishes. The crabs here are sizeable and defiantly fresh.
The place is not a complete write off though. Parents had been there before to have the Claypot Fish Bee Hoon soup , as well as the single order Hor Fun, which both had positive reviews. Also as we were leaving, it would seem their claypot dishes are the star orders at most tables and others were also having orders of La-las and butter cray fish.
*Clay-pot noodles at the ready for service*
Though not the best first dining experience, the large menu selection and seeing other orders does whet the appetite, enticing one to explore the rest of the eats. Fairly priced and without GST and/service charges, a worth while local Zhi-cha stall.
ABBATip:
Go before 5.30pm for dinner or only with booking.
