Visit Carlsberg

Crew visiting Amsterdam would probably remember the fun playful atmosphere at the Heineken Brewery (click here to read about Heineken Brewery in Amsterdam here!) Well, Visit Carlsberg definitely ain't like that.
Probably in a way reflecting the angst between founder JC Jacobsen and his son Carl (hence the name...), the museum is seems a more serious exhibition of the business and history of Carlsberg.

Reflecting Carl's love of art, the grounds also feature various sculptures including a smaller replica of the Little Mermaid which the company installed at its present location in 1913.

There is a bottle collection of the various brands produced by Carlsberg, numbering over 22,000 at last count.
There is also sampling of the first lager based on the original Carlsberg recipe and the stables of horses used to previously deliver products.
Another attraction is probably the unique varieties of Carlsberg that are only available here, including one made with oyster (watch those allergies...)
The cafe also had a nice cosy feel to it and allowed for an introduction to Danish cuisine for a reasonable price. But other than that, can be a bit of a walk from the train station, and may not endear itself to everyone..
.
To get there, take the S-train to 'Enghave' station and take a walk to the station. It is some ways off, so bring a map. Cost is 80kr for an adult, including 2 drinks.

Little Mermaid

Do it once at least to get that tick in the box, then decide if it was worth the fuss. Take the train to Osterport Station, then follow the signs showing "Den Lille Havfrue" to the site. Can be rather daunting in the winter winds...
