Aeon Mall Tempura
Karari 日本橋からり

Popular Crew Joint

Located just opposite Starbucks on the ground floor.
Ordered On:
31Oct2018
Their Zaru-Soba set at 1500yen with

ala-cart add onions 100yen and a scallop 200yenn.

*The cooking is done table side behind the counter. They serve as much as the serving plate will hold and when cleared, continue to fry up the rest of the order. The batter is light and not overly crispy with their rather simple tempura/soba dipping sauce which felt like it lacked seasonal toppings.*

Pretty average place. I Have no comparison to the food court tempura which goes as a fraction of the prices here but there were some high points. The prawns were plump and the eel tempura was really nice. The rest of the vegetable medleys were average. The add-on onions was a good one, but the scallop lacked luster.

Probably a return would be pure a-la-carte orders to try out what one would really want. In comparison to Ichiba Tempura (Osaka) located diagonally opposite from Sheraton Miyako, this place has no placing.

Sushisho is located almost midway between Garden hotel and Aeon Mall. Mostly
¥100 plates with premium going up to ¥300 a plate.

*Your order comes to you via the conveyor belt and if you miss it by accident, staff will present it to you. You could still have the option to cancel it.*

*All yellow plates go for 100yen*

*Ottoro really average. Supermarket sushi*

*There's a whole lot more ordered but not pictured*

All those plates at ¥2300 and ¥1500 in total. A steal.

This local chained carousel sushi joint offers really bargain eats at mostly ¥100 a plate. The worth while orders are really the non-traditional Sushis.
Some standouts were their avocado and tempura, seafood salad gunkang, as well as bonito marinated gunkangs were really quite good. Their chawanmushi was fairly ayuffed with ingredients, nice and sweet. Finally who can say no to their bargain desserts. Their crème brule ice cream was surprisingly delightful. Crispy sugary top with a creamy base.
Sushisho is only worth their basic sushi and non-sushi sushi. Shared by long time fan S, avoid their premium stuff like ottoro and uni (aprox ¥300 each). You basically get what you pay for.

Depending on your budget, there are better options like with Chio Si Maru (aprox ¥2500-¥3000/pax) located further down the road outside of Aeon mall. That would be the more value choice with a far superior soup that comes free during lunch time. Yamato Sushi located in Aeon mall is another option, but preference still stays with Chio Si Maru.

One leap up from that would be Eddoko sushi in NRT Village (aprox ¥3000-¥??).
Good but can be quite steep.

Kuromon Sakai Sushi
(Recommended by Ng.KY)

Opens daily from 11am to 11pm
From the main street walking towards Namba, enter the main walk way of Kuromon Market.
First Left Junction and Kuromon Sakai Sushi will be located on the right.

Ordered On:
23Oct2018
My Order as seen 3300Yen
*The stand out starting with the cheapest was the crab innards sushi. The most bang for buck dish that had several re-orders.
Next up were the scallops. Super sweet and thick flesh which is rarely seen in many other places. A really generous cut and quality to match.
The red clam was another excellent order, with a chewy bite and sweet flesh meat to it.
The uni here, top notch and really one of the better ones had. Smooth, creamy texture and super sweet. You don't get that all the time and the closest to match that would be at Izakaya Toyo in Osaka a super local and great value place for Shashimi, Uni and Ikura.
The rest were of good standing but not mind blowing fantastic but definitely above average compared to most other places!*

Total Fed 3 At about 3000Yen each for the various set sizes customized to your liking

*Depends really on where you are seated. The counter would be best*

This place is thus far the most value Sushi joint to be found among others tired. Better quality than Chio Si Maru in Narita, and the other Sushi joints listed here in Osaka. Great value for the asking price and the pseudo self serving orders can be split easily.

Everyone is given a sheet of paper to write down their  accompanying order. They did helpfully entertain specific request of no wasabi and spring onions for some orders.

Good value joint, with better than average premium orders as mentioned above. Worth the walk down to Kuromon Market

Located along shopping street, this Pork Katsu place is known primarily for their Miso Fried pork cutlet.

Teppan Tonkatsu set 1700+50Yenn
(The hot plate is their recommended order, however I think most patrons went for the non-hotplate version which is their specialty. Will try that version in future.)

*Wow for the set meal and the asking price for the quality of pork, it was a bargain. The red miso sauce went well with the fatty pork. Though the hot plate was their recommended dish, it seemed that almost all the tables went with the non-hotplate version. The only difference is either having the cabbage cooked or raw. Unlike other places which offers up free flow of salad, this place however doesn't seem to have the same offer.
Misokatsu Don 1200Yen

 Value cut meal.
Total Fed: 2 at 3186Yenn total.

Superb value! The cut of pork in comparison to all time great Tonzen in Narita, it's just a step under, but slightly cheaper. The sauce does take away a bit of the crunchy fry, but overall for the asking price and serve its a good deal and worth the try. A step above Tonkatsu Kochi in Osaka Hihi Town but just below Tonzen Narita.

From google reviews, the place seemed primarily known for their overflowing shashimi bowl and the huge Ikura serving.
Ordered On:
18Oct02018

x3 Draft Beers
*Solidddd draft beer. Nice creamy head and an icy crisp beer.*
Cheese Tempura
*Pretty different and interesting good. Soft delicate Japan cheese,
gently fried with a honey dip.*

Mini Ikura Bowl
*Reviews for the overflowing Ikura bowls weren't that great so we sampled the small serving first. Ikura balls were relatively small in size and didn't actually give off an explosion of flavor with each bite. Best Ikura/Otoro and Uni served and enjoyed thus far is still at Isakaya Toyo Osaka.*Fresh Scallop
 *Pretty standard*
Pork Skewers
*Nice and tender but could have done with more fat and more char from the bbq*
Over Flow Shashimi

*The star and we felt most value purchase. Going at 1390Yen per serve, this Sashimi assortment is fresh and thoroughly enjoyable. The octopus was one of the springiest and juiciest thus enjoyed. The sweet prawns were nicely chilled and that sweetness just scream through. NOTE that the bowls tip over very easily, so when taking pictures and passing around stuff be careful! One of these bowls obviously is a quick reconstruction.*
Total Fed 3 at 2900Yenn each
We felt that Donan-Norin-Suisanbu Nishiki-ten wasn't too bad overall. Its like a light meal kinda place and won't fill you up. The overflowing Shashimi was probably the only picturesque, return-to-order for an appetizer before possibly heading else where for a top-up if you're a bigger eater.
A nice Izakaya styled joint with good beer and variety of small eats. Da Yi Jin located near Nagoya Hilton is another interesting Izakaya joint that serves Japanese Tapas.
