Hi guys, I just found one restaurant in Milan and it is walking distance from our hotel. The name is RISTORANTE NAZIONALE. The food is excellent and the price is reasonable. You guys can try it next time. The boss is super funny and cute. Lol. Tiramisu and the seafood pastas are a must.

*09June2016*
Well finally after so long am able to try out Pizzeria Peppino! The place is small and it'll have trouble accommodating a large group. There are probably only 2 large tables front of house, and a alfresco dining option out back.

This definitely a unique place due to the man of the house. He's grumpiness is sorta misplaced. The dining atmosphere is that of pseudo silence, with any request regarding plates/orders/food resulting in merry-go-rounds of who gets to interact with him, which in itself is quite entertaining.

Two Important notes, there is NO English Menu, and his command of the language isn't really there either. Number two important point, you CANNOT Just order his Tiramisu without having having a main.
 Ordered On:

Cappuccino x2 2Euros
Sparkling Water 1.50Euros

Salmon Pizza
*The slamon pizza was a bit blend to be honest and we weren't accustomed to seeing grey salmon. In fact we asked others there to try the pizza to check if it were salmon and confirmed it was. By the texture of it, its most likely to be frozen, farm bred salmon.*
Mushroom Pizza
*Pretty ok*
Seafood Spaghetti 8Euros
*This dish was actually sent back. There's was a strong smell of the bad mussel and giggles around the table on who should ask the old man for a change. Though communicating to him a bad mussel was a little bit tough, the re-fire and a seafood dish without mussels this time round was superb *not pictured* Simple and delicious. He apologized and gave a re-cook for a seafood replacement dish.*
Tiramisu x3 3.50Euros
*Absolutely worth it. In fact another set's girl ordered a double order of this. The meal honestly did not start out too well due to lack luster pizza selections and a bad mussel in the pasta. All focus hinged on this tiramisu, and I must say its a resounding yes! Nice delicate layers with enough soaked coffee and a relatively light mascapone layer in between. Really nice and very reasonably priced. Tiramisu really turned the meal around and put smiles on everyone's faces. Worth!*

Total Fed3 12Euros Each
The following is a collective review from three different sets, which were there at staggered intervals, decided its best to sit together out of 'fear' of being reprimanded by the old man. Anyway, in comparison to Mario Lino's, the pizza dough here is far superior. Crustier, and not overly oily. The same goes for their pasta which are cooked a better al-dante, less salty than Mario's and a joy to be had.

So although the ordered pizza on this visit wasn't a hit, its really due to the toppings. Stick to the classics of parma hams, four cheeses and you can't go wrong. The pasta are a better bet and the way they do their spinach and mushrooms in-comparison to Mario's are much lighter and enjoyable. Without the cream and beautifully sauteed with plump mushrooms. *Not pictured*

The tiramisu, goes without saying and its worth even a bad meal just to end on a strong sweet note. We don't even know if there's free wifi on site. Don't dare to ask. : )

- Restauraunt is small so don't go in a big group.
- Best pizzas in town as reviewed by others and the tiramisu is to die for.
- Opens depending on Old man's mood and timings.
Was shared from others that you can't just order his amazing Tiramisu without ordering a main. Guess it may all depend on who's asking.

Crispy Pata

(Hotel Jen's Signature Dish)
Crew get a 25% discount

Prep time takes about 30-45mins.
*Frm Wiki Crispy pata is a Filipino dish consisting of deep fried pig trotters or knuckles served with a soy-vinegar dip. It can be served as party fare or an everyday dish. Many restaurants serve boneless pata as a specialty.*
Really lovely crispy pork and pairs well with the vinegar dip. The vinegar isn't over powering and the pickled onions which its served together with, is absolutely perfect. One of the two iconic Filipino dishes that I always go for. The second being their fried chickens. Its really quite unique with its crisp, and buttery, fluffy exteriors. (Any where would be just as good or you can try their Jolly Bee Chain. Click here for Fried Chicken Joint Wing Man in MNL reviewed here.)

This dish is worth the try and definitely needs to be shared. Served with garlic rice, and like all things, enjoyed fresh out of the frier. Same same, but different from the other pork kuckles reviewed below. In my opinion, the crisp level is comparable to the European counterparts and the meat maybe just as tender as those in Hofbrauhaus Munchen. The sauces definitely brings a local flavor to it.

Staff were really helpful in coordinating orders. They can have it delivered to the room/lounge or even downstairs restaurant.

International House Of Pancakes
(1.6 miles away. Complimentary transport to and fro)

It had been a good 5years since I last had IHOP, but it offers pretty decent diner like eats, that come with their famous buttermilk pancakes.

Ordered On:

14Aug2015

Philly Cheese Steak USD10.19

*Like most American onion rings, they were superb. The real deal of large onion rings! Steak strip were probably flat top grilled giving that nice crispy
edges and tasted pretty good too.*

Big Steak USD10.89

3 Raspberry Pancakes USD1.59 add on to the Big Steak
Chicken Fried Steak with 2 eggs and 2Butter milk pancakes USD10.69

*A nice cream sauce that goes together with the crispy chicken. The chicken had a good fry and is more of chicken patty.*

Fed 4 Approximately USD10each

A value meal at one of the many iconic American eateries. Portions are huge and it's always advisable to order one to two mains less. The place is a short walk from Top Gun which we went after.

Rajin Cajun
(2miles away. Complimentary transport to and fro)

A joint recommended by our driver and seemingly known by everyone else as serving out good old Louisiana eats. The standards are all pretty much the same but their are a few names which are known amongst the hotel staff and staff at Top Gun (Click here for Top Gun Review).

Ordered On:

14Aug2015

Catfish Dinner Fillet
*A fresh water fish, with a light batter. The meat was succulent.*

Seafood PoBoys USD13

*Po Boys though a classic dish enjoyed in Louisiana,  but it didn't hit home runs with the group. Its ok. Lightly fried, battered oysters and shrimp, between a french toast bun with salsa and cold crisp lettuce. It could have been made better had the bun been toasted.*
Shrimp & Crab Gumbo Bowl USD10
*The soup bowl seen above*

*Another classic Louisiana dish. However, it was a little on the salty side for my taste. A strange mixture of sea flavors in a gravy like soup and rice*

BBQ Texas Blue Crabs Marinated in BBQ sauce and spices,
dredged in corn flour and deep fried.

*Batter is very light and delicious. It's fried we'll enough that the shell can be eaten as well.*

Signature Char Grilled oysters Dozen USD23

Oysters topped with herbs an Italian cheese blend and lemon-garlic butter.

*The best thing for the night! Absolutely, mouth-watering, char grilled greatness at really attractive prices. Will return for these beautiful oysters and even go for the fresh ones. Heaven in a half shell and best enjoyed while still hot! The fresh oysters go for slightly over a USD1 a piece!!*

Mamas bread pudding with Rum Sauce USD5.5

*A nice sweet dish to top off the end of the night, but the pudding was a little dense.*

Free flow of drinks.

Fed3 About USD24per pax.

Reasonably priced food, in a family style dining hall. Pretty good intro to bayou cuisine and would definitely return for the oysters and try out the crawfish which weren't in season at the time.
