Singapore - To Do 23Jan22 (Singapore River Cruise)

Singapore River Cruise
450m from Fort Canning MRT Station
Singapore River Cruise Departs from Clarke Quay Jetty
Adults 25SGD
Children >3yrs old 10SGD

Boarding point for the Singapore River Cruise is from the Clarke Quay Jetty. Tickets can be purchased from there or online. Online purchase time slots were filled up but don't fret, there was plenty of space for walk-ins.
A fantastic cruise which last for 40mins and a bit. We opted for 6pm due constraints of children's' nap and dinner time but the views and weather did not disappoint! Some amazing shots during the golden-ish hours to enjoy the central business district and the quays.
*The famous Singapore Cat Statue. Look out for em!*

*The night view has its own unique charm. *
All the boats are electric. As shared by the skipper, after a 24hr charge, yields about 12hrs of ride time. It was really nice to ride on the refurbished bunk boats. Although environmentally friendly and zero noise emissions, a little of that nostalgic charm from the bustling engines and the smells is lost. For that ferry ride experience, one can still catch a ride to Pulau Ubin via the ferries which shuttle visitors to and fro. (Click here for that half day adventure).

The ride was thoroughly enjoyable and offered some of the nicest shots of the Singapore cityscape. Perhaps for a higher adrenaline filled ride, one could consider taking the amphibious vehicles from during the Vietnam War 1975 with Duck Tours. (Click here for more info on that trip here!)

Scenic, relaxing and depending time of day, the views are golden. Loads of dining options around the area.

Singapore- To Do/Eat 09Jan22 Alchemist at The Mill

Alchemist at The Mill
Opening Hours: 9am – 6pm (Wed – Sun),
Closed Mon, Tue
Click here for ABBA location of Alchemist at The Mill 5 Jalan Kilang #02-02 Singapore 159405
The mill is a unique piece of architecture which is reminisce of Park view Square, a.k.a Gotham/Batman Building located across from Bugis Junction (Home to the largest Gin Collection and a great Gatsby architectural feel to the place.)

This architecturally interesting building is located amongst the light industrial area and juxtaposes the surrounding buildings. Alchemist is located on the second story which offers good coffee and a small array of pastries.
The place in all honesty was smaller than expected but it has its picturesque corners and sleek design. A great atmosphere for a cuppa and to enjoy the bespoke architecture.
Abbatips:
- Park opposite as the downstairs parking are restricted for tenants only.
- Enjoy the architecture of the place as well as the wall paintings which reminds one of the many
statues and paintings in Rome Italy
- Look out for a cool vintage car or two in the tenant's parking lots.
Ordered on:
9thJan22
Food 4/5
Coffee has a nice roast and good flavor.
The pastries may not be to the standard of Tiong Bahru Bakery (one of many chained places in Singapore) but its paired very nicely with the cuppa.
Total Fed 4 SGD30.50
Ambience 4/5
*Total package along with the architecture*

Service 4/5
Being the only patrons the staff were very friendly and offered baby chinos (just steamed milk) for the kids and arranged the tables to better accommodate the orders. Further more they were very kind to answer my queries on where the coffees were from and about pourover coffees. Am by no means a connoisseur of good coffee but it is very reminiscent of artisanal coffee like the famous Blue Bottle Cafe in San Francisco which is much touted by bean lovers.
Value 3.5/5
Great place to pop in for an in between ‘attraction’ for great coffee, nice architectural lines and maybe spot some fancy vintage wheels.
