*Their signature toast to try. Ordered French-kaya-toast*

Opens 630am-830m Mon-Fri
Open 630am-715pm SAT SUN Public Holidays

This stall was chanced upon by the long queues seen around noon time on a previous visit to Sham Sui Po. A three stalled establishment, located side by side, serving up simple, but delicious fare.

According to friendly staff on hand, their signature dish was their pig liver noodles soup.
Livers were done just right, and did not have a lingering smell of pork, which often, when poorly prepared maybe a little over powering. Instant noodles were served with in a delicious soup stock, boiled with some old ginger to further mask the strong flavors associated with pig livers and also elevated the overall dish. The icing on the cake was really the fried chili paste, available table side to bring that warm heat. Shiokness in a bowl.

Pig Liver and beef noodle soup (signature dish)
HKD42 total with Cold Milk Tea

Pig liver done a perfect al Dante with a flavorful broth

Over table conversation with a Hong Kong Aunty at Se Wong Yee, (click here for SeWong Ye ABBA review), she was telling me that this place was very good until, like many places it got famous and quality had dropped since then. I trust aunty... But in my opinion, this place
is still good compared to many other places found in Singapore and is open early. For
your culinary exploration consideration.

Their Signature pork liver noodles, with ice-ed tea and Kaya French Toast.
Also came recommended was their Kaya-entombed French Toast, which was a great dessert and pairing with their iced milk tea.
Total HKD63 Fed1
A great place for a quick stop meal, or tea time snack. 'Good Find' was reinforced with the long queues, seen upon exiting and packed stalls in all three establishments. Will definitely pop in for a quick bite again when bargain hunting in Sham Shui Po for electronics or cheap toy knock offs.

Other dishes seen were choices of soup noodles such as Mee Sua or Macaroni served with beef slices or luncheon meat.

Sham Sheng Joint

Half a Goose HKD240
You haven't truly tried BBQ Goose until you've tried this one. Sham Tseng is famous for their roast goose and this particular branch visited, is one of those incredibly old, original goose establishment that's been around since the 1940s. This place definitely delivers.

Definitely not for health conscious with each morsel coated with delicious goose fat. Table side hot tea is incredibly important in cutting through all that oil. In my opinion, it out does the goose served in the Tai Heng chain.

Mandarin Orange Peels Ribs HKD78
You can taste the slight hint of orange. Pork ribs were tender and juicy, but because of the oiliness from the amazing Goose, way too much. Come here just for Goose. Lesson learnt.

Broccoli with Scallops HKD108
Something green to justify everything else. They didn't skimp on the scallops and vegetables cooked well and crunchy.

The place isn't worth the long journey, but taking the pilgrimage out of the equation, this place serves up damn good goose. (There is another branch at Mong Kok, located at Sham Tseng Chan Kee Roasted Goose, 427-427A Reclamation Street, Mong Kok, Hong Kong)

Braised Vegetable with mushroom HKD58 x2
Fermented Soy Beans with Greens HKD48 x2

*Simple and refreshing. Crush out the ccitrus goodness for that extra pop in the drink!*
Just as good as the original. You are pretty much there for the goose. The rest are complimenting compliments.
ABBATip:Call for the sauce drippings from the roast goose. It's got the suttle flavors from the spices of the goose and goes amazingly with the plain rice! Its like pouring soy sauce from steamed fish done HONGKONG style over rice... This simple pairing is amazing! Get extra orders of their sauce drippings to dribble over the rice.

Fed 12 Total HKD1373

Goose is a naturally fattier bird than duck, and boy have they exploited that fact in the cooking process. Meat wise, its probably very similar to duck but the real difference here is the skin and that white gold layer underneath. Sheets of 100% unadulterated, flavor and goodness.

I personally enjoyed the goose, but seasoned goose eaters were commenting that goose meat needs to be tender, which some cuts were indeed lacking. Over rated and a slightly on the pricey side did come up as well. You be the judge of this original roast goose joint located conveniently in Mongkok.
