Block House
(located behind Skyline plaza)
*Recommended by others to be of similar standards as Buffalo's, which is located in town and cheaper!*

Rib-Eye Master Cut, 12oz
From the tender foreribs, 350g, the pride of our butcher prepared on a lava stone grill, served with freshly grated horseradish. Euros 28.60
*Steak meals include a fresh Block House salad as a starter, a baked potato with sour cream and Block House Bread*
*A very respectable sized salad.*
*Huge sexy cuts done a medium rare. The meat was pretty okay to me, a little on the chewy side that we both felt it could definitely use more fat. However, having said that, talking to the wait staff, apparently this standing of cut, to the Germans is considered to be very fatty already. It could be cultural differences on how steaks are best enjoyed. We both felt the char lines were more of a visual element rather than an actual taste of real bbq char. The steak were expertly cooked with the right doneness as well as proper rest times prior service.
The seasoning was superb but could use more of it (Additional available table side). In fact it was so good, I bought me a large bottle at 7.50Euro. Expeiry is like forever, 2017 I think.*
Tiramisu with Strawberries 4.10Euro
*We thought it was a strawberry tiramisu, not strawberries and tiramisu. A misinterpretation of the specials dessert menu. The tiramisu was well balanced, nice and the thick coating of cocoa power on top, along with strawberries helped elegant up the dish.*
Naturale Water 6Euro
A Beer 4.90Euro and a Wine at 6Euro
41 Euros Each Fed 2

Rain or shine, we braved the weather to check out Block House located right beside Skyline Plaza. Block House is a steak house whose interior was really reminiscent of in my opinion a dated Jack's Place and in Hsi Te's an old Sizzler's.

The overall verdict was pretty similar. Relatively normal steak joint. For the price of the steak meal alone, it is pretty respectable. The salads servings were huge and their broiled, garlic bread sticks were sensational. We didn't care too much for the fresh Horse Raddish but its a very, very wholesome meal. As to if this place is by food standing is similar to Buffalo's has yet to be verified, but for its close proximity to Skyline Plaza and Maritim Hotel, its an excellent choice! So far best steak experience, considering pricing and value for myself is still in Amsterdam, Cafe Loetje, and for Hsi Te, Amsterdam's Marriot Hotel Steak house.
For pretty decent steak house of close proximity, of better value and quality than a Hog Breath back home, this place is a steak house option!
