Immer Satt Restaurant
10% discount for crew
(Located 750m from Maritim Hotel)

*ABBATravel Entry On 05Oct2014*
Ordered on 05Oct2014

Top notch service and a fantastic atmosphere to dine.

Complimentary serving of bread with Herbed Butter.

Pork Knuckle €16.90
*Probably the only knack that I had with the pork knuckle was that there wasn't enough deliciously crispy skin to go around. The meat came right of the bone, but meat felt a little bit dry. Probably the resultant of a re-fry or broiled for too long?

But what was an absolute delight is their willingness to change out the potatoes that comes with the main for a simple salad. But it was no simple salad at what we got was what is pictured above! Top notch service. The sides like their sweet purple cabbage and Kayle really helps balance the saltiness of the pork*
Escargot
in Herb butter
€6.90

*Fairly standard.*
Schnitzel mit Bratka €8.90

*A thin piece of pork served with a refreshing, cold herb-ed yogurt sauce. The sauce really helps cut through the thin breaded layer. I personally felt the pork was a little dried out, but its probably due to the thinner cut.*

Total: Euro 37

*Denison Tan ABBA contribution continued...*

For a restaurant located relatively close to the hotel, it has posed some difficulty for crew to locate. Which is a shame because it means missing on some pretty good cooking...

The cozy atmosphere is aided by the easy listening music playing in the background.

There probably is a parable about globalisation in the fact that Singaporeans were having pork knuckle for lunch while the gentlemen in the adjacent table were having Butter Chicken in a German restaurant run by an Indian. Immer Satt is run by a Mr Chavda who was attentive without being fawning and who pours a perfect lager at the first go.

Garlic bread, on the house.

On this occasion the much-praised pork knuckle was sampled, along with the unlisted but recommended schnitzel with wild mushroom cream sauce.

Pork Knuckle
*The pork knuckle was exquisite, served hot with a crisp layer of crackling on the outside and juicy flavourful meat within. Accompanying were red and white sauerkraut, mustard and greens.*

Pork Schnitzel with Wild Mushroom Sauce

The schnitzel was delicious as well, with the cream sauce not having that stewed mushroomy flavour of a pre-made sauce. That along with the lengthy wait for the food, spoke of the dishes having been prepared to order. Complimentary garlic bread and papadums helped make the wait more pleasant.

This round, 2 pork knuckles, a schnitzel and 3 drinks came to 18Euros per person after the 10% discount for crew. Definitely worth a visit or two...

The restaurant also has a sampler platter for crew, consisting of salad with bacon, pork knuckle, a small schnitzel for each person and sausages at 17Euros per person.
