Madtongsan II Korean Food
More of a student joint that's open till late.
Ordered On:
21Nov2016
C16 Beef Rib

*Beef is really tender and delectable.*
Cheese Bim Bim Bab

*Nothing special really. Though very cheesy, the vegetables were a little to green for my
tastes.*
Chili squid
*Pretty okay also. A large serving but nothing really more than that. Chili spice level is pretty high though*
Fed all at about 13AUD++ per pax
Their sides aren't very interesting as well. Offering only an average Kim Chi, pretty okay sweet potatoes and a mac and corn cold salad. Overall, okay eats at best.

However the great thing about
this place is their large seating capacity, late opening hours, and ease of bill splitting. Just let them know what you ordered at the cashier.
Some have reported the fried chicken here is nice, but for that night's orders, it was pretty okay at best.
ABBATip:

Really depends on what you order. Reported that the Fried Chicken is good too.

Like Korean food but don't travel to Incheon, Korea often? When in Brisbane, try paying Madtongsan II a visit. This place has the most authentic korean food outside of korea that I've tasted.

It started with a small stall in one of the shopping arcades but I guess business was too good that it had to get another shop space.

The place I visited was above a Korean mininart. Korean cuisine and scents fills the air as you enter the restaurant.

There's ample number of attendants there and service is always prompt. There might be a slight wait during meal times but I didn't during my visit. Usually I go there for 2 meals when I'm in Brissy.
My personal favourites are the Bok Eum Jjam Bbong (Stir fried seafood vegetable and udon noodles in spicy sauce), My personal reference would be to change the udon for ramen. This dish is served in dry spicy sauce, not n the usual noodle soup you have in Korea.

Next is Go Deung Uh Gu Le (Pan grilled mackerel served with soy sauce).

This is a must try! The fish is so tasty and grilled so crispy. Lastly the Soon Doo Bu Jji Gae (Spicy soft tofu with seafood/pork and vegetable soup with raw egg) this soup is served piping hot and usually will last the whole meal hot, good for those cold winter days. They also have the other popular korean dishes like Jab Che Bab, Bi Bim Bab, Bul Go Gi and for sharing, steamboat and hotplate just to name a few. One could top off with korean soju and beers like hite and OB.

Everyone knows that Australia is well known for their fish and chips but I personally feel that the Asian food in Australia is good as well. Korean here and probably Hong Kong roast in Adelaide.. But that will come another time. Pay Madtongsan II a visit if you're in Brisbane, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
