Museums

The lack of understanding of the German language does dampen the entire experience. The museums visited below had limited, to no English placards at all. Most museum entry cost €8-2 per entry Adult/student.

ABBATip:

For Bonn
Get the Bonnerleben card €9.
This covers an entire day of traveling within Bonn and multiple free entry to many museums and sights.
A single direction, adult single way trip costs aprox €2.70.

Haus Dre Geschichte der Bundesrepublik Deutschland

(House of the History of the Federal Republic of Germany)
near
Heussallee/Museumsmeile station

Great displays but unfortunately the lack of English placards, much of the experience was inferred from pictures.

"The American Way" section was informative and was the only section with English explanation, for displays and its videos.

The rest of the exhibit were well designed, but overall it seemed to be lacking in a general flow, with themes or ideas jumping forward/backward along the time line.

In conclusion, if with a understanding of the language would be a more meaningful experience.

Bundeskunsthalle (Art and Exhibition Hall)
near Heussallee/Museumsmeile station

There really isn't anything much architecturally or in terms of a collection to scream about. Even their additional exhibits lacked explanations or a greater in-depth look at the subject in question.

An absolute waste of time, not worth the space, entry fee, or even the late opening hours.

Kunst Museum Bonn (Art Musuem Bonn)
near
Heussallee/Museumsmeile station

*Did not have a chance to review but it's located in same location*

Museum Koenig (Natural History Museum)

at Museum Koenig station
A fun, family-friendly museum with life-sized stuffed animals, as well as brilliantly setup dioramas.

All the displays were well designed and thought out. Stuffed/preserved animals allowed individuals to get up close and personal with their favorite animals, seeing them in great detail.
In my opinion, one of the better museums to visit, amongst those covered here in Bonn.

The Arithmeum (Mathematics and Art)
nearest station
Universität/Markt

Unless you were a mathematician or coding enthusiast, there's absolutely nothing here for the average visitor to enjoy.

The 'mathematical art', uninspiring and the seemingly old school calculators/clocks of sorts are nothing more than intricate mechanical builds which would take a true mathematician to realize the brilliance behind its design.

German:Ägyptisches Museum Bonn
(Egyptian museum in the university of Bonn)
nearest station Universität/Markt

Lets just say, their marketing, banners and over zealous brochure description, is a far cry from the exhibition itself. A single level, nei, room, of artifacts,  attached to the university of Bonn. The power of marketing well demonstrated. Entry €2

Beethovan-Haus
(Birth place of Beethoven)

nearest station Universität/Markt

The birth place of world Renowned pianist and composer, Beethoven.

Walk the halls of this three story tall building, whose rooms have warped and sagged due to its age. Listen to the wood boards creek with each step and look at various artifacts preserved from years past.

The audio guide is well worth the purchase as you get a running commentary guide and also listen to the music, Beethovan played at the various stages of life, which mere placards can never fully portray.

Journey from Bonn to Linz on Poseidon

Poseidon was a medium sized vessel with comfortable seating, with a boat dog to boot. Staff were friendly and forth coming with advice on return journey timings.
