Alan Turing, father of computer science, cracked the Enigma and possibly shortened world war 2 and saving thousands of lives. The Imitation Game is a fantastic movie which depicts his story.

Probably later in the evening after work it gets much livelier but enjoy the lights, decor of the village. You might also be interested to check out SFO's Castro.

Manchester Xmas Markets

Simple eating, drinking and be merry. Many of the drinks have a 2-3pound deposit which you can either keep the cup or return for your money back. Its fairly well spread out over a large area. Food options and drinks are plenty.
You might be interested in the Copenhagen Markets and well as the hugely popular Winter Wonderland in London.

Simple round loop which covers a nice section of the city.
