MOMA
1030am-530pm
(Cater about 2-3hrs)
With the invention of photography, traditional art may have been slightly displaced. A nice sharing by a tour conducted was that modern art explores how to express things in a different perspective. An explorative and experimental process.
The doors open at about 10am with access to the exhibitions occurring on the dot at 1030am. Get your coats checked in and scope out the amazing stuff for sale at the Museum shop while waiting for doors to open.
ABBATip:
- You can arrive early to check out the store, a small free exhibition area and the lobby.
- Take the lift to the top floor and make your way down. The curation viewed in that order in my opinion keeps visitors engaged, interested and one gets to see the major pieces before the crowd picks up!
The curation was amazing and what's beautiful about the entire setup is that visitors can get up close to the pieces to see the details and experience the art for some. A huge contrast in treatment to similar famous pieces like the Mona Lisa at the Lourve.

You needn't be an artist to enjoy or have come across/heard/glimpsed some of these iconic master pieces. These influential names have transcended fields and influence countless.
Starry Night, Van Gogh

The Persistence of Memory  Salvador Dali

Campbell's Soup Can, Andy Warhol

Water Lilies, Claude Monet

One:Number 31Jackson Pollock

The architecture at MOMA itself is equally interesting. It offers pockets of symmerty and loads of photography opportunity. A must to check out this museum and wished I had visited it sooner.
There are many interesting museums while visiting New York but there are two other bucket list must name The Met as well as the Natural History Museum.

Stardust Diner
The clearly unique thing here is that many of the servers at Stardust Diner are aspiring actors and singers looking to make it big on Broadway. Working at Stardust provides them with a platform to showcase their talents to a diverse audience, including locals and tourists.
ABBATip:
- I think seating anywhere is okay. The singers move between the upper and center pit but usually gravity to the middle
- Smaller groups of two to four would have a better chance for better seat locations to enjoy the better seats in the house.

The milkshake was too sweet. In fact it wasn't finished. The rest of the food was pretty decent but nothing really a huge shout out. Though its a Diner, the food here is more of a conduit for which the performance to out stage it. The food is alright, and a little pricey at near USD30 after a 20% gratutiy due to the large group of seven.
Okay to get a grub, but stay for this unique dining experience with a excellent song choices and wide range of song performances!

Bryant Park's Winter Village
(A general guide on the opening hours for winter village if coming to visit.)
The Rink 9am-10pm
The Lode 10am-10pm
Holiday Shops 10am-8pm
*Tree lighting ceremony with Olympians skaters and broad way Singers.*
The Winter Village has a nice, quaint and well curated selection of vendors. The iconic skating rink anchors as the middle attraction, with all the temporary stalls surrounding it.

There are loads of food stalls and happily so offering samples at some.
Not all the things for sale are cheap but are really beautiful. Great for window shopping, getting a bite and soaking in the Christmas atmosphere.

You might be interested in the more commercialized and larger scale Winter Market like that of Winter Wonderland in London. Europe Christmas markets are a different league of its own.
Singapore's Gardens By the Bay also does a pretty nice job of celebrating the season.

Photo spots
Sunrise Spot at 51st and Broadway
As per Reddit, junction of 51st and Broadway gets a great view of the sunrise peaking in the distance. Beast and Butterflies (offering a straight shot view of time square) is a roof top bar located at the same junction.

Free to enter roof top bar at Beast and Butterflies
For an unblocked view of Time's Square in the distance.

FDNY Fire Zone
Fire fighting educational center where kids can put on firefighter clothes and learn more about this respectable and admirable occupation.

Check out the map of New York and the respective Fire patches for the stations.
An interesting pop in and learn a little bit more about the fire fighters in NYC. Of course don't miss out dropping by the iconic Hook and Ladder Fire station whose exterior was used to film Ghost Busters.
You might also be interested in checking out O'Hara's pub and restaurant Downtown, which became a go to place for first responders. It was a ground zero base for first responders during 911.
