Fresh Oyster and Sashimi - Salmon NZD25 total

*Great oysters, however the shashimi here, still looses out to the King Salmon ones had at lake Teakapo.*
Angus Beef Takai NZD11

*Okay. Nothing special really. The ponzu jelly was interesting though.*
Vegetable Tempura NZD9
*Very nicely fried up and prepared.*
Grilled OX Tongue

*Pretty good. Probably too much on the black pepper, which is reminiscence of a black pepper beef cooked Chinese Style*
Salmon Oyako on Rice NZD14
Seafood Hot Pot - Small NZD19

*Seafood Hot Pot - Solid soup stock for sure. A simple serving that's very nicely prepared. The Salmon Oyako. Man that salmon roe is really something. The roe has a nice pop to it, releasing an explosion of flavor. Fantastic! *

 Sweet Bun NZD6.50

*Absolutely loving this dish! Man. Hot fried, sweet red bean ball, pairs beautifully with the extra creamy green tea ice cream and the light cream. Really one of the best red been, green tea combination dessert had! And this place is outside of Japan!*
The last meal in Christchurch before heading back the next day. This place was ranked top 10 on trip advisor and we decided to have a go at it. Authentic Japanese with the staff all being from Japan. The food was of good Japan standing and the winner here for me were the soup stock, the super salmon roes and the finale dessert of sweet bun which came recommended. A pleasant meal in a relatively small joint.
