TripAdvisor (Free)
Pre download TripAdvisor of the country you want to visit. A place looking a little dogey? Perhaps use tripadvisor to see if its legit or a total scam. Best function has to be restaurants, best near by. It automatically list from highest ranking to lowest ranking via distance from where you are. Next time you meal joints won't be a crap shoot any more.

Trains are simple enough to follow and take from one point to another. Now with Metro, you can get to any location via trains or even buses. Download the country you are going to, and type in destination in which you are visiting and the app instantly comes up with the necessary public transport to take.
