IG ABBATRAVELS
Back to Black

Back to Black researched to offer sustainable great coffee by two friends who've known each other since the age of 12. There are two outlets with this being architecturally interesting and more importantly close to the hotel.
Ordered on:
18Oct23
Coffee and a pie. Most purchases were about 8Euros range.
Pie was amazing with the fresh cream. Though served room temp it went very well with the coffee which was a nice boost for everyone.

Simple fair at very fair prices in a unique corner shop. Quaint and chill vibes.

The Pancake Bakery
Opens 9am!

The place was already half filled at 930am. The great thing about the pancakes here are that they are more like crepes than the thicker American counterparts.
ABBATip:
- The order portions are large. Less one order for the party of pax you have. Say party of four, order three portions for a really hearty meal or two would be just nice.

Great to go to this place in a group to try a variety of dishes. The Indonesian was the surprising winning order. The sweet pancakes were a sure win especially with apple and cinnamon classic pairing. As for the traditional seasonal Dutch Pea soup, its either you like it or don't. To those trying it the first time, they shared it was like having plain Dal.

Order to share, Pan cakes were great and a fantastic way to start out the day. The coffee was so-so but the Stroopwafel was a nice replacement from the usual biscuit served along side. Would recommend this place to try their sweet and savory offerings.

It does the job. Average and comfort food on a wet Amsterdam day when in a bind. Well stir fried and a slight heat. Remember to take their heat sauce packs to give you the option for that extra spicy kick! Their chili is akin to the spicy sauce that you get from Halal Guys.
