Adelaide Central Market
Well...have your expectations measured.
Its not as big as Queen Victoria Market, or Sydney Markets, but it has it's charm quite close to (like 60% of) South Melbourne's Market.

All organic with bins of grain and cereals to scoop your order out off. |
Price of Oysters pretty much comparable to the rest of market in Australia. |
They do have a range of fruits and vegetable stalls, but two to three at most of each stall and it didn't seem evident that they were offering samples for their products.
They however do have an eclectic mix of stalls like one selling purely mushrooms, to country specific eats and bistros. An interesting place to check out but unlike others having that little more by way of street art, performers and lively bustling, here was probably for the everyday person and much more laid back.
The food, some of which were interesting but probably the time of day, couldn't attract to find a corner to tucker in.
In season local mushrooms at AUD50/KG. The large one goes for about 15AUD. |
