Click here for ABBA location of Anne Frank House, Prinsengracht 267A truely saddening story that personifies the horrors that goes on during the war. For parents, perhaps the shocking depth of thought and words that comes out of a young child, whos life takes a complete turn around due to the Nazi occupation. Deep thoughts and a revealing documentation of the darker times in our history.
Part of the structure now, the place has got a beautiful cafe for one to enjoy the canals of Amsterdam in a more peaceful time.
The tour itself could move a little faster, but its mostly the great, telling, short video presentations inside the unidirectional tour that causes the slow down. The story though is sad, but its the vivid accountability of what it could be in this day, if discrimination and war were to plague us now. To learn from History so that it won't repeat itself. A meaningful tour with deeper rooted learning points.
ABBATips:- Wait time to the ticket door is approximately 20-30mins. The queue is constantly on the move. We went at about 1330hrs.

The
site of the heart-wrenching story of Anne Frank is now preserved for
generations to visit. Located in another typical Dutch house that would
probably be missed if not for the glass facade and sign.
The
floorboards still creak and one marvels how she held out under the
constant threat of discover and death. Photos not allowed inside.Nearby
is a statue also immortalising the plucky youth. The bookshop stocks
her diary of course in various languages including versions for younger
readers.
The site can be a bit far from the hotel, either take a slow stroll after dinner or take the tram.

Museum of Prostitution

€7.50 per entry
12:00 - 24:00
12:00 - 24:00
This really is a fun exhibit of sorts. One gets to see the inner workings of the iconic red light district. There are loads of stories from the working girls, and the different fetishes and little excerpts and artifacts from all over.
One even gets to sit by the red light window facing the main walking street along the canal.
A fun place and insight look to the iconic red light district. However, their displays are really just limited to two hands and for the price of €7.50 per entry, it may not be worth it. Again, fun interactive displays but only a two floored display.
